The Way to Make a Bed Without Tucking the Sheet Apartment
Not everybody appreciates a sheet that is easily tucked or horizontal. If you, like many people, move around a lot as you’re sleeping, then you may feel as if you’re wrapped in an body-sized bit of tape rather than a sheet. For an infirm person, a tautly tucked sheet isn’t just annoying, it can be even dangerous and constricting. But leaving the top sheet does not need to lead to an unkempt-looking bed.
Taming the Dangle
It hangs down messily beneath the comforter or dangles, when you don’t tuck the top sheet. Place the comforter over the sheet that is laid, and fold the excess sheet back over the comforter at the head of the bed. Lift the comforter fold just enough of this sheet beneath itself, so that it does not show. The weight of the comforter holds the sheet in position. When you are ready for bed, then reach and let the sheet — and any blanket folded beneath — so that it’s not likely to ride up, discovering your feet to dangle down.
